Whether you want to tackle this on your own or if you want Pat's Marine to assist, here are some tips for getting your boat ready for summer.
Generally, you'll want to do a thorough maintenance check after you take your boat out of storage and prepare for summer fun.
Here's a brief list of top tasks to complete.
- Clean, wash and wax your boat.
- See if you need to empty the bilge pump: Pump out any water from melted snow or rain that has accumulated over the off-season.
- Make sure your battery has a strong charge and you can depend on it for those long days on the lake.
- Perform a rigorous safety check, checking all lights, the horn and other safety equipment.
- Change the oil and check fluid levels.
- Make sure your registration is up to date and the sticker is in place.
- Don't forget to put the drain plug in if you took it out over the winter.
